The one and only... Chanel

The most luxurious fashion house in the world, Chanel, recently presented their Pre Fall 2012 Collection titled "Paris-Bombay." The collection which was held at the Grand Palais in Paris was viewed at an elaborate banquet setting where the attendees were served a lavish feast of champagne, tea and mini cakes. The Paris-Bombay themed aesthetic was a perfect fusion of Paris and Bombay while still keeping to Chanel's traditional qualities and sophisticated dressing.
The collection which is inspired by the elements of India consists of sparkling jewels, vibrant hues and fabrics and well constructed tailoring. The impeccably executed designs and beautiful fabrics were typical Chanel styling with skirt suits, trousers and perfectly formed drapery and dresses. The Indian influence is evident with the traditional dress of India consisting of beaded tunics over chaste leggings, loose suits and flowing fabrics.
The Chanel aesthetic is maintained throughout the collection with a continuous attention to detail in silks and embroidery. The mediocre colour palette was grey, cream, black and gold which was set off against neon pink and tweed. The Paris Bombay collection was accessorised with metallic headgear and jewel encrusted flat sandals. Overall, the collection is a perfect reflection of the two cities fused together to create stylish and chic ensembles that would look perfect in an Indian goddesses wardrobe. Mr Lagerfeld proves once again why Chanel is the most luxurious, stylish and sophisticated fashion house that will forever stand the test of time.
